As a Sales Engineer, you translate complex heat recovery projects into concrete business cases that drive carbon reduction in the industrial sector. You’ll work at the intersection of engineering and commerce—combining technical depth with strategic stakeholder engagement.

Recent project highlight

For a client in the chemical industry, we reduced flue gas temperatures from 250 °C to 30 °C for scrubbing. Previously, 1.5 to 3.0 MW of thermal energy was wasted. Our challenge: the gases contained high levels of sulphur, making them highly corrosive.

We designed and implemented a total solution—supplying a high-performance polymer heat exchanger, all ducting, a powerful fan and full structural support. Today, the flue gas is cooled from 250 °C to 120 °C before entering the scrubber. The recovered thermal energy (1–2 MW) is reused elsewhere in the process, saving over 8,300 tonnes of CO₂ over five years.

Your role as Sales Engineer

  • Proactively advise clients on integrating heat recovery into their processes
  • Translate technical challenges into commercially viable proposals
  • Design process integrations for heat recovery systems
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary projects through to implementation

Your daily reality

A typical day might include:

A site visit in the Port of Rotterdam to finalise specs with a client

A morning Teams call with a chemical producer in Germany to discuss an innovative heat recovery concept

An afternoon workshop with our engineering team to refine a technical design

Your team

You’ll be part of our Commercial Engineering team:

  • Cor (Commercial Director) – 35 years of industrial experience
  • Rik (Project Engineer) – specialist in industrial decarbonisation
  • A diverse team of 6 project engineers with broad technical expertise

What you bring

  • A degree (HBO/WO) in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Proven experience in industrial process optimisation and thermodynamics
  • Strong technical-commercial insight
  • Fluency in Dutch and English
  • VCA VOL certification (or willing to obtain)
  • Driver’s licence (B)

  • Salary up to €75,000 depending on your background and experience
