HISTORY

Although there is no one called Bos working at Bos Nieuwerkerk, it is still a real family business.

The company name was first used when Leen Goedegebuure from the town of Nieuwerkerk started his company in 1973 and hired Peter Bos as his sales partner.

From the age of thirteen, Leen Goedegebuure had worked for companies that produced the first heating installations for the greenhouses. He started for himself and used a farm workshop to weld chimneys. Bos Nieuwerkerk was on to a good thing as a great many (horticultural) chimneys had to be replaced due to the switch over from oil to natural gas.

In 1987 the cooperation between the partners ended. Because of the reputation of the firm, Leen Goedegebuure decided to leave the name of the firm unchanged. Bos Nieuwerkerk started serving the non-residential construction sector, too, and soon the company expanded to a size too big for its premises. The year 1990 saw the next step: new premises at the Hoogeveenenweg in Nieuwerkerk aan de IJssel.

In 1997 daughter Martine Goedegebuure took over from her father. Martine had grown up with some of the experts in their experienced team and together they developed the firm into the thriving company it is today.
