Entrepreneurship and pride: celebrating the Day of the Entrepreneur
Since 2016, the Netherlands has celebrated the Day of the Entrepreneur—and rightly so. With over 1.5 million entrepreneurs in our country, their contribution to society is immense. Entrepreneurs drive growth, create jobs and generate prosperity.
MKB Nederland (the Dutch SME association) believes entrepreneurs deserve recognition for their efforts. A day to highlight their importance to the country and thank them for their courage and perseverance. The start of a tradition that celebrates entrepreneurship and puts entrepreneurs in the spotlight.
Since its inception, the Day of the Entrepreneur has taken place during Global Entrepreneurship Week, a global initiative that promotes entrepreneurship in over 150 countries during the third week of November.
Last year, Minister Karien van Gennip (Social Affairs and Employment) and Jacco Vonhof (Chair of MKB-Nederland) visited Bos Nieuwerkerk and Heat Matrix. As a follow-up to this visit, our very own Martine—owner and Chief Strategy Officer of both companies—was featured in a beautiful video portrait celebrating her journey as an entrepreneur. This tribute was part of the lead-up to this year’s Day of the Entrepreneur, which will be held on Friday 15 November.
